Covid-19

Covid-19 was a catastrophic event for the entire world. Surging infections,

hospitalization rates, and hundreds and thousands of daily deaths resulted in a chaotic

and nightmarish world. Despite the harrowing times, our teenage group was inspired to

see how local communities came together in a time of extreme crisis. Communities in

Michigan organized logistics and funds for food, PPE kits, and other pressing needs,

ensuring those in need and without means had access to what they needed.

Our teenage group partnered with the Michigan Muslim Community Council and the

Balkan American Community Centre to offer our helping hands. Together, we

organized, funded, sourced, and distributed relief boxes containing dairy products and

fresh produce to hundreds of families in need in Oakland County.
